Apply to Clarity Health Fund

Clarity Health Fund is accepting applications from psychedelic-related organizations and people who’ll soon start an organization in the space.

Update: Announcing our first microgrant recipients.

Reasons to Not Apply

  • You’re likely to invest time into an application that doesn’t get funded. We’re saying no to most applicants. It’s possible we’ll have grant rounds where we say no to all applicants.

  • We might shortlist an application, ask follow up questions that take time to answer, and still not fund it.

  • We might change the application questions, invalidating draft applications. We’ll give as much heads up as possible.

  • We’re keeping our identities private.

  • We don’t have extensive grantmaking experience. So we might be slower to decide, slower to wire grants, and we might ask more questions before making decisions, while we’re learning how to do this well.

How to Apply for a Microgrant

We’re trying an experiment by offering $1,000 USD microgrants to people what want to start new projects.

We’re especially interested in some of the ideas on this page (the ones that can be done with $1,000 or less).

Microgrant applications in this round are due on 11am Pacific Time on Wednesday 27th March.

You can apply for both a microgrant and a macrogrant, if you’d like.

Details:

  • We’re seeking applications from individuals that are already working on psychedelic therapy related projects, or that would like to. You can use the funds for whatever you’d like as long as it is legal, other than repaying debt. You can be full-time or part-time on your project. These are $1,000 USD grants and we’d like to make at least 10 grants over the next few months. Legal applications only, and anyone that obviously violates this will be disqualified from this and future applications, sorry. The microgrants are for individuals only and the only requirement after receiving a grant is that you give us an update when we send you a follow up email. If you’re looking for a project idea, see some ideas we’re interested in funding.

Application process for microgrants:

  • Apply by 11am PT on the 27th of March 2019. (We hope to run another experimental microgrant round soon!)

  • We’ll aim to send decisions by 6pm PT on the 11th of April. There’s a possibility it’ll take longer than this - expect to hear from us with an update no later than 6pm PT on the 18th of April. We will aim to get grants transferred soon after grant decisions are made.

To apply for a microgrant, submit this form. The current application period has passed. If you’d like updates on when you can next apply, sign up here.

How to Apply for a Larger Grant

Larger grant applications in this round are due on 3pm Pacific Time on Monday 1st April. We plan to do additional rounds of grants.

Application process for larger grants:

  • Fill out the form below by the 3pm PT deadline on April 1.

  • If you pass the first round we’ll likely email you further questions. We’re aiming to have first round decisions and any further questions sent out by 6pm PT on the 11th of April. There’s a possibility it’ll take longer than this - expect to hear from us with an update no later than 6pm PT on the 18th of April. Then responses to those questions will be due on the 18th, assuming that there aren’t too many questions.

  • In some cases we’ll ask for video or phone interviews, which will likely be held on the 22/23/24 of April.

  • We’ll aim to have final decisions done on Sat 27th April at 6pm PT, and wires within a few weeks after that (longer in some cases if there are grantmaking complexities).

To begin applying for a larger grant, submit this form. The current application period has passed. If you’d like updates on when you can next apply, sign up here.
